Companies don't seem to have timelines or even plans in some cases for not requiring the BC plugin. One suggested:
The Joomla 5 has completely different system then it was before.
So it requires to build a completely new extension so it may work without BC plugin.
I was surprised that Joomla was such a shift from 4 to 5 that a plugin developer would have significant re-work to do.
