Using TinyMCE to embed a PDF document in an article worked in Joomla 5.0.3. Since Joomla 5.1.something, there has been a change; the version of TinyMCE has been updated from 6.7.3 to 6.8.3. The new version of TinyMCE changes the way that embedded PDF documents are inserted: in J 5.0.3 the insertion method relied on the <OBJECT> tag; in J! 5.1 the insertion method relies on an <IFRAME> tag.
I say that there is a defect in Joomla 5.1.1 that breaks the ability to insert PDF documents within articles using TinyMCE.
